Before Tomorrow

Tomorrow, for the first time since December 2007, Daughter Number Three will not publish a post, in honor of the Global Climate Strike and its digital form.

So before that day begins, here are a few links I've been hoarding to read as the day approaches.

The case for climate rage by Amy Westervelt. "I barely know your kids and I feel like I would jump in front of a bus to stop this shit."

But the greatest of these is love by Mary Annaïse Helgar.

How to be young in a climate emergency by Alex Steffen.

A podcast about women who are fighting for climate justice.

Can climate activism solve the problems of teenagehood?

Another 2050 look-back (akin to this one), this time an interview with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on NPR.

How to face the mess we're in without going crazy. Active hope with Joanna Macy.

The Amazon: how do we heal a burning heart? by philosopher Charles Eisenstein

Greta Thunberg's interview with Trevor Noah on the Daily Show.

And an hour-long interview with Greta from Democracy Now!

Lifestyle changes aren’t enough to save the planet. Here’s what could by Michael E. Mann for Time magazine.

Money is the oxygen on which the fire of global warming burns by Bill McKibben for the New Yorker.

Where our new world begins: Power, politics and the Green New Deal. From Harper's.

The power of multisolving for people and climate — a TED talk by Elizabeth Sawin.

The end times are here, and I am at Target: On the strange experience of living through the only accurate doomsday prediction.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go make a sign for tomorrow.
