It's been a travel day for me, so my only access to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing was through Twitter and a live blog on Five Thirty Eight. Which were pretty informative, but I think I have so far been spared the gut-wrenching effect of watching and hearing it.
The looks on the faces of most of the women behind Kavanaugh constitute my current takeaway:

Oh, and did you hear that his only answer to Sen. Amy Klobuchar's question about whether he's ever blacked out from drinking was to ask her if she had? FYI, Brett, in case you didn't know, Amy's father was an alcoholic, so you question is particularly offensive and stupid.

She mentioned her father’s alcoholism before he asked his question. He also asked another senator if he likes beer, and asked another about playing quarters. Do you think the guy might have a problem with alcohol?
