Errors on signs are probably the worst, since the signs cost so much money, they often can't be replaced even when there's a mistake. Here are a couple of examples from a recent trip to Cortland, New York:
The sign hanger in this case was a bit unclear on the concept of ampersands.
I am flummoxed by the aisle signs in the Whole Heart Cafe and natural food market. Not just the use of the Papyrus font, though that is bad enough. It's that lower case L (or capital I) used instead of a lower case I. Alsle? Or are they making a play on the word Isle? I'm not sure, but it sure distracted me.
It's a nice store though, and a good place to grab a quick bite to eat.

I notice “Ethnic” — meaning...?
When we moved to downstate Illinois thirty-odd years ago, we were amazed to see pasta and spaghetti sauce in the “ethnic foods” aisle.
