The Weekly Sift discovered that the name "Trump" was originally "Drumpf" which I suspect is from Bayerisch. I couldn't find it in my German dictionary. The reference comes from John Oliver (scroll way down) in this post: https://weeklysift.com/2016/03/07/peak-drumpf/
