Left Behind

I just finished reading Eric Foner's tome Reconstruction. Lots of resonance with everything that's happened since, of course, including our current election insanity.

I hope to write more about it later, but for today I just have to share this list of posts by Ta-Nehisi Coates related to the Civil War and Reconstruction. It was compiled by a blogger called Absurdist Beats.

Wow, I am so late to this party. That's a lot of reading, with links starting in 2008, but I'm glad it's all compiled in one place where I can find it. Absurdist also compiled links to all of the "book club" posts Coates ran on books like Reconstruction (plus Battle Cry of Freedom and other Civil War titles).

Whew. Back to school.
