I just picked up (finally!) March, the two-volume graphic novelization of John Lewis's story of his life in the Civil Rights movement.
The first book covers his childhood through 1960, including the lunch-counter sit-ins in Nashville:
The second ends in 1963, not long after the March for Jobs, Peace, and Freedom in Washington, with the Birmingham church bombing that killed four young girls. A third volume is planned, which I assume will include events at least through the marches in Selma.
I hope these books help reach young readers with this important account of history. They look enticing to me!
