A while back, I found myself in an antique store that used to be in downtown Wisconsin Dells. It was kind of run-of-the-mill for the most part, but it had a bunch of new metal cans that had been wrapped with never-used vegetable labels.
I bought a few just for their names. Tonight, they become part of the interweb:
Defy the World Tomatoes. How can you not want to eat those? They're kind of like Popeye's spinach. And Refugee Beans. How great is that?
I wonder if there's a book about the poetics of food names.
