Celebrating the Green Line

Here's what I'm doing today:

And the complete Kevin Cannon's amazing illustration for the opening of the Green Line light rail, which connects downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis:

I love the drawings of so many familiar businesses along University Avenue, including the Textile Center, Bonnie's Cafe, Foxy Falafel, Classic Retro @ Pete's, On's Kitchen, Midway Books, the Russian Tea House... and Twin Cities Reptiles. No sign of Purrrniture, though.

(Note that the map is not meant for navigational use, including the fact that it's missing the middle of St. Paul, such as the huge Macalester-Groveland and Highland Park neighborhoods.)

Then after that party winds down, I'll be at Northern Spark, the all-night art festival, which is in Minneapolis this year:

Despite the fact that it looks like it's going to rain all day and all night. It's my first time, and I had to pick the what looks like the soggiest one so far.

Somehow I suspect Northern Spark will be fun anyway. I, however, will be indoors and asleep.

Yay, Green Line! So happy that it's finally running. I need to find out if Raymond is one of the stops....:-)
