If you're in the Twin Cities and want to see an incredible piece of theater, I recommend The Origin(s) Project, which is being remounted at Dreamland Arts in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood from October 25 through November 3.
I saw the show in its original run a few months ago and was blown away by the writing and performances. It's made up of two one-woman plays, each written and performed by a woman who was adopted from Korea to Minnesota.
The first play, called N/A, by Katie Hae Leo, deals with the problem of not knowing your personal history, including your medical history. The second, by Sun Mee Chomet, is called How to Be a Korean Woman, and explores her experience of finding her birth family.
I don't think I've ever seen a piece of theater this emotional or personal.
