PBS did a story on income inequality last night. I didn't catch it in real time, but thanks to Boing Boing, I got a chance to see the segment:
The PBS reporter reenacted the Unequal American Pie test, which was originally carried out by Dan Ariely.
As in Ariely's original research, a the people waiting to see the David Letterman Show on the streets of New York overwhelmingly selected the Swedish distribution of wealth as both the ideal one and the one they thought represented the American distribution.
The segment also includes clips of Ariely making some points, plus an interview with Warren Buffett. All in all, worth the 11 minutes and change.
