[No Title, Since It's Too Cute for Words]

Monkey Cuddles ad showing a little monkey figurine standing in a woman's hand
Not knowing what to say about this particularly stunning example of kitsch, I will instead quote from the ad copy:

Close up of Monkey Cuddles with her banana and topknotA Tiny "Baby" Who Will Win Your Heart! What do we have here? A sweet little blue-eyed baby in a tiny diaper, looking for some tender loving care. But this little one has a curly tail and nibbles a banana! Introducing "Monkey Cuddles," a winsome little baby monkey figure so lovable, you'll smile every time you see her.

Amazing Sculpting and Charming Details
This miniature simian sweetheart is cast in resin, hand-painted and wonderfully detailed, right down to the look of contentment on her adorable baby face. Her little topknot is genuine mohair, and she wears a diaper of real fabric. This baby's special treat is a tiny sculpted banana. She's just too cute for words!

Imagine being the writer who has to come up with that copy. My favorite phrase is "simian sweetheart." I've always had a soft spot for alliteration. And how about the fact that the monkey is blue-eyed? I guess it could be worse... she could be blond, too.

All this cuteness (3.75" tall) will cost you $19.95 plus $5.99 shipping and handling, and by sending in your money, you are signing up for future shipments of monkey business at the same price.

Don't the people at the Ashton-Drake Galleries know there's a recession on?
