Good grief! Yes, the clash couldn't be greater. I unhappily mused about this disparity during childhood trips to North Dakota (we visited relatives in Zap) when we passed my great-uncle Dave's farm near Milton (not that far from the Peace Garden) and saw all the missile silos in the fields.
Not every NoDak license plate has the soldier/missile logo, only the National Guard plates — notice the letters NG next to the logo. Which isn't to say we Dakotans ain't proud of our missiles, we are!
Third of four daughters, raised in a rural area outside of a small town. Now living in a moderately large city, making media and immersed in other people's media. Finally cleaning out the filing cabinet and loading its contents to the cloud.
Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World — and why Things Are Better than You Think by Hans Rosling, with Ola Rosling and Anna Rosling Rönnlund
