Eastern Wisconsin is home to the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers (north of Sheboygan and Manitowoc, which are in turn north of Milwaukee).
To find out more about the museum, check out this slideshow. It gives an overview of what's involved in making wood type, which was common in commercial printing from about 1850 to 1960 or so.
Anyway... one thing that I really liked in the museum on this visit was the cheeky posters that have been printed over the years to promote it. Here are a few of them.
Clever and nicely printed. What a good combination.
