I'm in Madison for WisCon (the 30-some-year-old feminist science fiction convention, more on that later), but since it's Saturday, it also means I got to see the famous farmers' market that surrounds the Wisconsin State Capitol building.
Since it's only May 24 and a late spring, most of what was for sale was plants, baked goods, and greens (plus asparagus and a few local hot house tomatoes), but there also was this lady who raises emus. On her table she had a display of their eggs.
It's hard to tell from my photo, but they are the most incredible shade of metallic teal!
