There was an assassination in Pakistan on December 27, 2007 -- you may have heard just a few news stories about it. That was over 10 days ago, but today's Parade magazine cover story was headlined "Benazir Bhutto: America's best hope against al-Quaeda?"
Now I know that publications like Parade have long production schedules, but doesn't this call into question whether they are a viable format anymore? We're not talking "Dewey Defeats Truman" here, with news that happened overnight -- this is nearly two-week-old news.
It's moments like this that signal the impending death of print.
