I agree that "grasping" sou...It sure is.<br /><br />I agree that "grasping" sounds negative to my ear as well. I wonder if it was meant that way, though, or maybe to her it sounded strong or manly. Assertive. Or even just, grasping as in "ready to receive," as when the baton is passed.<br /><br />As far as the strong/weak and rich/poor lines go — they're in quotes. In a search, I don't find anything with those words, so I'm not sure if that's a reference to a particular text or not. 'Grasping' isn't complimentary, nor is "the rich against the poor,<br /> And the strong against the weak." It sounds...wavery.
