To exclude materials means you are only considering labor costs. <br /><br />What they aren't mentioning is the impact of the different countries tax rates. One of the big reasons to manufacture outside of the US is to take advantage of a 0% corporate tax in Singapore. Another reason is lower wages. <br /><br />The sad thing is, a lot of those workers probably think they have a pretty good deal going.
